Dr Melanie has over 20 years of experience as a Veterinary Surgeon, having graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999 with second class honours and has been the heart and soul of our Little Critters Family since 2014.
Melanie has worked in both small and mixed practices, not only around Australia but also in the UK. However, over the past 10 years she has chosen to turn her focus towards our small companion animals and is passionate about providing highly personalised continuity of care to her patients and clients.
After the devastating flood of the clinic in 2022, she hit the ground running to rebuild the clinic, even going as far as setting up 2 demountables as temporary housing so she could still provide care to those that needed it.
In September 2024, after months of preparation and hard work, she got to open a refurbished and updated Little Critters Clinic in a brand new location. Now she gets to enjoy the future rain events stress free!
In her spare time, she likes to spend time horse-riding and spending quality time with her husband and their 2 boys, along with all her furbabies: Jimmy, Will, Scout, Maude and her most recent addition Tommy, but this is just to name a few of the many animals that keep her busy outside of work. One of which is our retired clinic cat, Tinkerbell, who is now enjoying her retirement and ruling the household (which of course was to be expected)
